In 1995

we waited and waited for this young man.  He finally decided to make an appearance at 8:03 pm on March 3rd.  The third of the third with a third in the time!!

Needless to say some Grandparents were pretty darn excited.  His Grandma Jay had her first and only grandson and we now had our third.

An awesome young man that cracks us up with his humour and he is as kind as anyone I know.  Do we love him to bits?  You bet we do.

Is this the kiddo we went camping with and listened to the wolves howl in Algonquin, the frogs croaking just down the road from our campsite?

Is this the kiddo we built cobwebs (with yarn) in the hallway while Grandpa had his nap?

Is this the kiddo we read the same book to over and over again?

Is this the kiddo we took to Science North and Dynamic Earth in Sudbury and had an absolute blast?

Is this the little guy that sat on Grandpa's knee and watched Wheel of Fortune and every night said

"R"?

Is this the young man who phoned one day and said "Grandma, can you teach me to crochet?"  I said "uh, no, but I can teach you to sew/quilt."  So off we went on a journey every Wednesday and Cody first put a pillowcase together, then a quilted runner and then he bought his own Husqvarna #1 Sewing Machine.  The best they ever made.  Does he still quilt?  I dunno!  I think he is learning how to use a serger.  You know that may be his next line of work.

Thank you for all the wonderful memories.  We treasure each and every one.

So to our grandson, we wish you the very best day since last year's very best day.  Enjoy the day doing what you love to do.....maybe go over to the Muttart Conservatory and wander around.

One of the few photos we have of Cody.  When Cody and his wife Robin moved to Alberta, I went through all the albums we have and sent them to him.

Love you

Cody Rayne Jay
