This quilt is for someone very special. She has been the victim of discrimination and verbal abuse because she wears a hijab. She is the little wee tiny nurse in our doctor's office. She is the sweetest young lady you would ever wish to meet.
I'm changing my focus on quilt giving. I'm looking for those that need to wrap themselves up in a hug on a really bad day. I can't give Selma a hug, so we do virtual.
The fabric is Perfect Union by Edyta Sitar. The name alone is perfect for this gift. Our country should be the Perfect Union for all of us and by gosh I'm going to try in my own humble way to try to do it.
I cut the centre
Pinned the pattern to the quilt on the wall
and the rows were done before lunch.
Inch by inch, row by row, this is how my quilt will grow......
and then it was done. I used King Tut Linen thread and Ginger Stars for the pantograph. It was on and off the frame in a couple of hours and two afternoons of stitching and the binding was done.Come back tomorrow. I have a bit more that I did for this gift.
