and then she got a whiz-bang idea.....

I thought of heading down to the $$$$$ store to buy a gift bag.  I haven't been inside very many stores and the thought of going and shopping there wasn't sitting well.

I spent an evening googling this and that and finally I found what I wanted.  Here's the link:

Now of course, I didn't make mine the way they suggested.  I cut my three fabrics 18" x 18".  I didn't use interfacing (I know - why ever did she google this????)  I used this.  I love this product because it gives a bag a lot of stability.  It isn't floppy, it almost stands up by itself.  I used it years ago in totes and before this tote I used it in the storage pods.

I pulled out all the fabric I had left and one fabric would give me enough for the outside.  I dug through the stash for the lining which is just a white fabric, nothing fancy.
I also made a card to go with it.  Again, nothing fancy, just little squares from the fabrics which are supposed to look like gifts.
I'm going to do this again.  I like the idea of giving a gift to someone that is packaged up nicely.  It would take an extra 1/2 yard of fabric from one of the lines you have in the quilt.  It takes a bit of planning ahead if you online order like I do.
Why????
