To add to the pumpkin, it needs something on the top
Maybe a leaf??????
This little pumpkin doesn't need a huge leaf although the ones growing in the fields may argue that.
I worked out the instructions......finally. The knitting is easy and can be done very quickly. I knitted three in one afternoon.s

There you go your pattern.
I used Patons Canadiana, and the colour is IVY. There are a few to choose from in the green line. I would have copied and pasted the pattern here, but it comes up rather strange and believe me I had enough trouble writing up this pattern.
If you knit larger pumpkins -- which I have done, you could make larger leaves. Just cast on more stitches until you have 17 would be my guess.....and then cast off following the leaf instructions.
IF you leave a long enough tail at the beginning and after making the loop, you can secure the leaf to the pumpkin. Easily done. Just go through the knitting and the stuffing a few times and cut the remainder of the yarn.
Enjoy. It is the colourful season of the year.
If you prefer to crochet a leaf, here's a link for your.
I didn't look for a fabric leaf because I don't know as I would like that. Personal preference.
