We did it!!

 We have lived in this house nearly 8 years and every day I looked at the kitchen counters and was not impressed.  I have no idea what the lady that lived here did, but they were odd.  Like some kind of a finish on the laminate and you just couldn't clean it nicely.  It was shiny and it always felt greasy.

We went to a local store -- a small business -- and we chose two different counters.  When we got home we lived with it for about an hour and the decision was made.

It is brighter and cleaner looking and we just love it.  Then I thought about my one lovely little plant that needed repotting, so we went over to Holland Park/Stationhome and found a new pot.  It took us a bit to decide but we are both happy with the choice and our plant seems to like it too.

Pretty soon the Christmas baking will start.  In the meantime though I've got cookies to bake.
