Yes!! It takes me one evening to knit up a toque. There is a long story to this toque and cowl but the shortened, condensed version is the yarn took forever to be delivered to The Knitters Boutique here in town and then they didn't ship the green.
I wrote to Cody to ask him to select another colour. He was disappointed but said the oatmeal was okay. I went on the hunt and found it in Toronto!! Ice Blue and Moss Green. They do give everything punch. This is Andes yarn and it is beautiful to work with. My absolute favourite chunky wool.
The toque was easy, but if you are knitting one in yarn and the directions call for an 8mm needle drop it down one size -- 7mm. The wool when wet will stretch so that is your knitting hint for the year!! Cody wanted a pom pom..............he got a pom pom!!
Then the cowl. 100 stitches on an 8mm needle, K2, P2 for about 9-10 inches. Simple easy knitting for an evening of television. Our daughter came to visit and I just kept going and had it cast off before she went home. A good Saturday evening.
Sometimes its just really nice to open up a parcel and find something like this inside.
