I had no yarn, I had no fabric, so I had to think of something. I searched for embroidery and decided to do some redwork which I haven't done for a long time.
I tried a bunch of things which I haven't done in a long time. I "coffee dyed" the white fabric so it's a bit -- I don't know -- creamy??? I used a DMC 321 thread, and I pressed a piece of fusible interfacing on the back and then did the embroidery.
I had no red print fabric in stock but I pretty much determined I didn't want a "frame" around it. I found some red flannel and then the brain went into gear. What if????
I cut a round piece of fusible batting and put in on the backing == almost centred == and then pinned the top down and stitched around the edge of the circle. I moved my needle as far as my walking foot would allow and stitched around again and then again. I added a binding with corners to hold the hanger and it was up on the door that afternoon.
Here's a hint for you. That hanger was a stir stick for paint. I trimmed it down to the proper size, drilled two holes in the wood and added the cording. Yes, I used the power tools. Karl just put the drill bit in. Our grandson walked into the yard in September and found a little bunny. HER name was Miss Maple until they took HER to the vet and HIS name is now Mr. Maple.
They did find the owners but when the grands knocked on the door the owners asked if Cody and Robin would like to keep him. They have a pet!! He has been to the vet where they discovered a couple of issues with him, but he is doing very well. He gets to have his space and he gets to do bunny things when they are in the house with him. Yes, he will be spoiled, but that's why we have pets, isn't it?Welcome to the good life, Mr. Maple.
