and I'm ready. I opted to do a new liner for the fall for our "treasure tray".
The tray sits on the dining-room table year round and holds things we have collected over the years from different places. Four seasons, four different displays throughout the year.
I ended up not doing the pumpkin I had downloaded. My word it was fiddly! I went with their number of stitches but my colours of yarn.
The candle holder was purchased in Intercourse, Pennsylvania on one of the many trips we took to that part of the country. We very often went in the spring and the fall. A gorgeous part of the State. The two little scarecrows were bought locally.
I'll put the Happy Thanksgiving ornament out on Thanksgiving week along with the Buckeyes and the Acorns. The acorns were gathered at our son's house under his enormous Oak tree and the buckeyes are growing on the tree across the road from our house. Info: Removing the shell and roasting the nut neutralizes its harmful tannic acid content and makes for a protein-packed snack. If not prepared properly though, buckeye nuts are toxic to humans, causing symptoms including weakness, diarrhea, vomiting, paralysis, and death.
When I took this photo we actually had those artificial flowers. Then Tommy discovered them, started to eat them, so they had to be tossed out. No they weren't recyclable as he left his teeth marks in them, so no giving them to a neighbour. The vase is from New London, Prince Edward Island. A beautiful pottery shop we bought a few things in when we visited every other year for quite awhile. We had our favourite spots.Memories of wonderful places we visited. They should be out to enjoy and not tucked away in a hutch in the dining-room.
