You do it again!! The concept works, it was the "not paying attention" that messed me up. New concepts that are in your head sometimes goof up when you go and work at it. This was the case, so I learned from my mistake.
For a Christmas ornament/money holder gift idea you really need to be sharp. After a bad night's sleep and in a rush I should have just left things but "ya know"............
So here is the first one. The next two will be perfection (I hope). You only need four items to make this. A cross stitch, a fabric for the backing, some fusible interfacing and a "hanger", which I opted for cording. Simple, eh? Oh and the pattern for the "oval".
All was going well. She thought. However, she was off and now has the sample to prove it.
The idea worked though. The pocket is great, the idea is great so back to the stitching. This will work!!
Well, it worked. I had to do the cross stitch again and I made it easier for me. No one will notice, I am the only one in the family with the pattern. I'm only doing two and the scarf colours are for the individuals because these are what they like. This is a lengthy post so I'm going to post a few photos here and continue with the instructions in the next post. There will be a downloadable copy for you in you are interested in making them -- and no you don't need to cross stitch to make them.
Finished, these little ornaments measure 4" tall and 3 1/4" wide. If you are cross stitching you will have to find something that will fit these dimensions.
No this is not a real $50 bill. I downloaded a copy and removed the serial numbers and printed it off on white paper......one side only. Canadian money is not easy to counterfeit.
There are a few easy cross stitch patterns that are free online. Here are the links: https://www.needlenthread.com/2015/11/snowflake-2-free-pattern-for-your-winter-decor.html

TIP: If you cannot cross stich look for a fabric that has a good size print that you could fussy cut to make the front. I found a couple way back in July at the Quilting B and More in Charlottetown, PEI
