I did get some knitting done

When you live where it's cold, folks love warm hats and cowls.  So the granddaughter that lives with our grandson in Edmonton is getting a beret.  I found the pattern on Yarnspirations and the yarn is fabulous!!  I buy it in my local beautiful wool shop in my city.  The Knitters Boutique.

I use the same cowl pattern every time.  Cast on a bunch of stiches, K2, P2 and I think maybe 12-14" for the length.  It's mindless so I can watch movies or talk or just do nothing.
Robin is a certified arborist and a landscape designer so she is outdoors a lot!!  They also snowshoe and hike so she is bound to be cozy in this.
Robin chose the colours for her gift.  When I talked to her, she said "I work with trees, what else would I pick.  So the cowl is a brown trunk, some snow, a bit of green poking through, snow again and then a big tall tree capped with snow and branches and a few stubborn leaves that never changed colour and didn't fall off.  That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
A bit of charity stitching for Community Living.  I don't use expensive yarn for this.  Wool has to be given care but Canadiana can be washed and dried and you don't have to do anything fussy.  There is another headband and a scarf but I never photographed them.
