It doesn't get any easier

than this.  I cut a length of fabric at 18" and trim off the selvedges.  I use a muslin or inexpensive cotton, a layer of batting and then the top.  I do these on my long arm, but there is nothing wrong with quilting them on your domestic machine.

This fabric is from the Father Christmas line from Northcott from last winter.

After the quilting is completed, I do something fancy along the edge that will be visible.  This time it is simply layers of fabric and the binding which is done by hand.  I try to use fabric that goes with the main fabric.
I will do a post of step by step instructions when I get to the next one.  Sorry it didn't occur to me to do it this time.
There are only two seams on this pillow.  Both sides.  That is it.  The two ends fold over enough that the pillow will not pop out.                       The finished front.  The snowflake that is stitched out almost matches the fabric snowflake.  The pantograph is called Snowdrift.   The thread was an OMNI navy blue, gorgeous thread to work with.

Oher ideas for the border at the front are these.  I did them last Christmas as gifts for people we know.
These are just prairie points which were put on a pillow for a new Mom's rocking chair.

The next one was given to a friend.  She was very happy as no one had made anything for her since her Grandma died.

Amazing what one little thing can do to make a person's day.

Easter is coming and with that, I take a wee vacation.  I don't publish on Good Friday or Easter Monday.  This is the last post for this week and I'll be back next Wednesday.

When I saw this on the internet I thought
of a friend of mine, Margery
who loves to garden.
Almost time.
