Easter is coming!!

I gave up something for Lent.  Lasted two days, so I gave that up.  Nah, I'm not telling, but it wasn't drinking (cause I don't do that) and it wasn't smoking (cause I don't do that) and it wasn't eating cause I love to do that.  So ya have to keep guessing.

I had an idea.  I have this tray for our dining room table that is decorated for every season -- except Easter.  It didn't have it's very own mat.  That is now rectified--almost.  Another story for another day.

Two fabrics, one piece of fusible fleece, because hopefully this will never need washing.

Time spent at the cutting table, the ironing board, and the sewing machine.  Grand total, maybe an hour.  No binding for this one.

Simple, easy quilting with my walking foot.  I placed the needle just on the edge of the foot and away I went.  Three times around and it was done.

Sew up the opening in the back seam and it was in the tray on the table.

I gathered up all my rabbits.  A couple of bunnies too.  I purchased these from my local Home Hardware store here in my village from their really terrific gift section.  Okay, it's the deadly gift section.  I walk in, there it is with my name on it and it comes home.  Never fails.

These two are trying to look innocent.  I'm sure they have been up to something.  Like nicking the lettuce out of the garden, or chewing on the carrot tops.

Ah, the little one loves her Dad.  Of course, she does, cause "every bunny loves some bunny sometime".

And it was done.

Bunnies everywhere and the candles came out too.  I have two vases that I've adapted into candle holders because Tommy let us know that he thinks flowers are for chewing.

No idea where the vase came from but the candle was purchased -- guess where.  I shop local.  I could really clobber all those that shop Amazon.  Your stores in your town carry the same thing and after the pandemic most are online.  They also pay taxes to your town and employ local people.

While I was at it, I decided to swap out the wall hanging too.
I made this one in 2011 from a pattern that was online.  Coriander Quilts featured this and a few of us made it up.  I made the birds to fit the month.  Especially February for the red cardinals.  I tried my darndest to match the birds to those we would see in our yard.  Juncos, Chickadees, Cardinals, Robins, Doves, Gold Finches, Sparrows and the list went on.
You can still get this pattern -- free of charge -- from here.  Coriander Quilts and look for Birdie Stitches.   I read my label on the back and I started in 2011 and finished up in 2012.  It is one of those little quilts that come in handy to brighten the corner of a room.  It's been on the quilt rack, folder up just a bit too long, so I'll give it a few minutes in the dryer one Saturday morning while I'm drying up a load of wash.

Sending big Easter hugs
to the
coolest chicks I know.
