lovely. I bought it awhile ago from Lindley General Store in Meaford. I couldn't come up with a pattern or a recipient, so it sat here.
The line is called Mayflower and it is still available from the store. The blocks were cut 9 1/2" and set on point. I altered the border a bit so I wouldn't have to make a bigger backing than I had fabric for. I think it finished at about 52 x 64 but I'm not really sure.
I came up with this fabulous idea to quilt one row with one colour thread, then switch to another. I won't do that again, but it was fun giving it a try.
It didn't stitch out quickly but it was worth it when it was all done. I used Ginger Flowers for the panto, two shades of yellow from King Tut and Hobbs 80/20 batting.I bind all my quilts in the evening while the tv is on. Most nights it isn't worth watching but its company for Karl and I.
When I showed Karl, his eyes lit up and he asked who it was for. Decision made
A pieced backing because I just love them. I know it's easier to use wide backs or make the quilt smaller, but there is something about turning a quilt over and seeing that little touch that the quiltmaker used.
