many years ago. Cross stitch!
It started with a kit from Canadian Living in 1988. An Advent Calendar you were supposed to put candy on, but I opted for decorations. It has hung in our house every year since then. That's a long time! One year the decorations go on, the next year they come off.
In 1994 I made this for Karl. The fabric was different and I could never get the creases out. Maybe I should give it another try.
I don't have a date for this, but it's one of my favourites. It adorns our mantel in this house now and it has a little story on the back of it.
This little guy was stitched out for Julia. She was getting a book pillow, a new book, a bookmark and this was her ornament for the tree. I hope she likes foxes as much as I do.
I found this on the internet. No idea where because I don't keep track of those things. I started in late December and finished it up in early January. Between this and knitting, I kept myself busy. I have the "frame" for it so I have to get it done. I can decorate the frame come December or sooner if the mood strikes and I fancy doing it. Summer would be a great time because I can get out and gather things for it. That's all I'm saying.
This was a freebie. A mystery freebie!! It was done by a gal from Newfoundland (if you are on Instagram, check out "fourboysandanlgal") and every week you received a new row. I followed along and completed each row because I had plans! It was to hang up before Christmas. The only thing I changed were the houses. I did them like you will find homes in St. John's. Bright, colourful and fun. They don't have space between these houses, but I also wanted trees which I found -- you got it -- on the internet.
and now Easter is coming. No idea where this will go. No idea how I will finish it off. It will be in the dining-room because that is where we eat our "special" dinners.and the finish.....well sort of.
I need a frame of some sort. I'm giving that a think
I found the pattern here at The World In Stitches. If you are into cross stitch there are multitudes of free patterns on this website.
Like this one which is next for me
