My quilting has come to a standstill. I bought two loads of fabric recently and have absolutely no desire to do anything with them.
and this one
I had great plans for both and then I packed them up and put them away. My enthusiasm for doing for others in the line of quilting has evaporated. I lost count of how many we donated last year, but out of all of them, not one person thanked us for them. Quilts take time........lots of time. A lot of the time there is designing to do, there is sewing to do, then you make a backing, and you quilt it and you bind it. I won't even talk about the amount of money it cost us.
I don't understand why it is so hard to say "thank you" to someone for a gift that was given out of their generosity. Their kindness. A simple card from a dollar store with a signature would do it. Address it, pop a stamp on and pop it in a mailbox. It's that easy. Are manners a thing of the past? Apparently.
I designed this quilt with other fabric in mind. This is as far as I got because I was pushing myself to do it.
It's on the flannel wall. I have no idea when I will get back to it. Someday I might feel differently and I'll get this done. Right now it's just not looking good.
I'm not giving up the blog, but for now, I'll post other things. Like the baking from last week, or knitting, or photography. Keep watching.
