the internet, mostly because of Instagram and things that catch my eye there.
Riley Blake posted a fabric cowl.
If you don't knit but have a stash of fabric you don't know what to do with, you could make a few of these, fancy up your wardrobe or donate them to a charity. I could give suggestions as to the charities but that's not my place. We all have our favourites.
The young lady who designed these has done a great job with her instructions and I hope to get a few made because I would just like to sew and when it's done, it's done. Here's the link. Now I'm not absolutely positive, but I think this would be pretty nice made in knit fabrics too. I haven't worked a lot with them, but in our lovely Canadian climate they would be a bit warmer, wouldn't they

I asked for a book for Christmas and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was written by Alan Doyle, from Canada's Great Big Sea musical group.
This was one of the best reads I've had in a while. You may need to know a bit about Newfoundland to enjoy it. I highly recommend it because you will learn a lot about our most eastern province. One that is delightful and entertaining, and extremely friendly.
I want to finish off this post with a huge shout out to some of our cities good guys.
The Compassion Society is our local food bank/clothing bank. Local companies are extremely good to them
Our meat market, J and G Meats, made a very generous donation at Christmas as did a local restaurant
Joe Dog's Gasbar Grill
and Harb Plumbing did a huge food drive that will keep them going for quite a while.
We pay back.
We've used Harb Plumbing and we definitely would use them again.
We shop every other week at the meat market
and Joe Dog's....
well we tried them last Friday night for fish and chips.
Karl and I both said.........these are the best we have had since we were in PEI. Highly recommend them for take out and yes, we will be going back.
