I decided on lime green thread for this quilt. No particular reason, but I have this fabulous King Tut thread in my stash and why not.
This was the pantograph. I couldn't find one with a simple police cruiser or fire truck or ambulance so as all these people are stars in my book.........
This is the snowbank at the end of our driveway. It was the perfect spot for snapping these photos. I just put on my knee boots and out the door I went
Instead of just adding a piece to the top or bottom, I opted to do this! The first cut was 6 1/2", then the gold are 3", and the rest of the fabric was cut 4 1/2" or something like that. It gave interest to the backing instead of plunking a piece on to make it longer.
I think I finally have the label placement the way I want it. Sew it right into the seam when I put the binding on. A little bit of hand stitching and it's looking good.This is the binding. It work out well with the words visible. Sheer luck that's all it was. No talent involved in this.
And a star fell right on top of the ambulance. Perfect!!
