Yes, it is that time again. August 1st has come and gone, but it's still available for download and will be until the last day of the month. I haven't stitched it down as I had to redo the star from my choice of original fabrics. They just blended way too much and I wanted something that made a bit of a statement behind the front star.
As I told you last month, the farmer was in the hospital. It was discovered that he had a blood infection and after getting 2 units of blood his hemoglobin count went back up quite a bit and one month and one day after admission he was allowed to come home.
Unfortunately, he is going back in on Thursday of this week because they discovered cancer in his colon. We have been running for the past few weeks, to doctors, to clinic, to the hospital, to doctors, to the clinic, to the hospital and all over again. Between all that I did little as I'm the chauffeur. That's life. You get the good with the bad.
On a happier note I snapped this photo the other day. We get to admire this when we can sit on our deck after the sun goes down. The pot is actually a large cup and saucer.
We drove up to Cambridge last night and visited with our son, daughter-in-law and our grandsons and their two cocker spaniels. Peter learned well from the farmer. This year he is trying honeydew melons and the first one was very good. Most of us had at least a slice of it and then Peter and Karl had melon and ice cream for their dessert. Heather and I had cheesecake!!
P.S. When I get the July block done, I will post it for you. I think I may trace it tonight and then start to cut it out. We'll see.
