I popped into my favourite wool shop in downtown Burlington and grabbed three skeins of this yarn. Berroco Ultra Alpaca Chunky. 2 of these and one dark grey. These are for family!! Family being me.
I have finished all my knitting I'm donating so now it's onto family. Family gets a better quality yarn, which means bigger bucks and working with luxurious wool. Remember if it keeps a sheep warm, imagine what it will do for you.I had knitted this design before and loved it. By the end of this scarf == 🥴not so much. It got a bit boring and it didn't help I had just finished the same pattern on the previous scarf. The first skein I finished up at 28", so I knew I would be good for one of those scarves that wrap around your neck and the breeze doesn't penetrate that hole jackets always leave open. I think there were 30 stitches, and it was a K2, P2 on row one and all "odd" rows after, K1, P2 then K3 at the end for "even" rows. An easy pattern that looks great when you are done, but I won't be doing it again for awhile.
I finished it one Sunday evening and as I knew I would get getting close to the finish I sat on the deck and knitted in the afternoon. 56 inches of scarf. 56 inches that will wrap around my neck and enough to hang down the front or the back to keep me warm. 56 inches I laid on the dining-room table and measured with my phone!! I just discovered I had this little gem at my finger tips. Who knew??? Okay, all of you because you are wiser than I am.
