but a day a few tears will be shed. Our fabulous family doctor is retiring. We have been his patients for over 20 years. He found out Karl was diabetic, he said to me one time "I have good news and bad." I had breast cancer.
He was once a doctor in Haiti at a children's hospital that was devastated in 2010 when a 7.0 magnitude earthquake hit close to Port-au-Prince. Our Guild held a workshop and people made lightweight quilts to put over the children's cribs out in the yard because the hospital was inhabitable. We gave them 70 quilts, one for each child in the hospital. Eternally grateful to all the women in our Guild who gave from the heart.
It is hard to say good-bye to someone who is kindness personified. We have so many wonderful memories of this man. In our married life we have had 6 doctors but none compared to Dr. Yates.
When Karl had his heart attack he called me the next day. He kept in touch on so many occasions when one or the other had problems. It was his way.
We will now have a lady doctor. Same office, same great girls we will still get to see.
We want to wish the best of the best -- all the best in his retirement. Put your feet up Doc. You deserve a great retirement and thank Sandy from the bottom of our hearts for sharing you with us for the last 22 years. She has no idea how much we appreciated it.
When you know that tears will be shed you give a gift that will bring some humour into it. A tube of Rub A535 for all those aches and pains to help out after doing all those jobs Sandy has lined up and of course, all the time he will share with his children and his grands.
who truly changes our lives.
Thank you for being that person.
Your compassion, guidance, support, and medical skills have been such a blessing to us.
We are so thankful to have had an amazing doctor like you.
You more than deserve it.
Oh yeah and tell Sandy to get that “honey-do” list written.
“Some super heroes don’t wear capes
They are called Doctors and we had the best”
It took a few hours but this is for Doc. After playing street hockey, baseball, basketball and generally just having a great time, this is for him to lay his head down and have an afternoon snooze.
I ordered flannel this time. I really wanted to give this a try. Boy, do I love the way it turned out. I used a pantograph I've never used before. Abacus and for some strange reason I did "cus". I started row 2 off wrong and had to reverse stitch. I was not amused. I used a variegated thread instead of a navy blue which had been my first choice.
I like the looks of this. It's meant for a man/boy/teen -- you get the drift I had a pillow form in stock so it's ready for delivery. My knees held up for this so I was pretty darn happy.
