There are days, the quilt is finished and it sits there because I have no idea how I want to quilt it. I am not buying anymore "specialty" designs. I have a book full of them and I think there are a few that I have only used once.
The last projects were fairly easy to chose. I love this one. I have so many options with it. It is called Sound Waves and it's up to you how you want to space it. I figured it out at a nine inch depth and stitched it out. Then I went down 2 inches, then 2 1/2 inches, then 3 inches and finally 3 1/2". It's just one of those perfect pantos you can fiddle and fool with.
I like this one -- a lot, but it has to be for the right project. Maybe Easter, anything with bunnies, but I had to adjust the mouth on the bunny. I just didn't like it. It is simply called Bunny Hop. The flowers just give it that little bit more.
All time favourites are the "Ginger" pantographs. Gingersnaps, Ginger Flowers, Ginger Hearts, Ginger and Spice. Wait, you can take a look at them all here.
Another one. Cakewalk. It is an odd one but it works if you use your imagination. I use it for animal projects and pretend they are scurrying around.....like squirrels that run on our deck, dogs running in circles to find the ball you just threw. Stretch your imagination. And just because, let's add Daisy Bounce. One of my favourite flowers but it works so well on so many floral fabrics. I did a fabulous job of thread selection on a black and white print I couldn't capture it in a photo, so this is right off the long arm. Where those blue lines intersect is where I was stitching when I snapped the photo.
I have lost count how many times this has been used. I can adjust it in my long arm so it stitches larger, smaller, wider, shorter. One of the good ones that was worth it's $15.00.If you ever buy a long arm, when you are starting out, try to find pantographs you will use often. Simple easy ones are often the best.
If you do a lot of children's quilts, the alphabet and numbers never go astray.
Hearts are highly recommended because you give your quilts with love.
