One Day in December

Strange, but I never thought about the title until I finished the book.  Karl and I had our first "date" in December.  We had seen each other a lot before because we worked for the same company.  I did his waybills and told him where to go with his truck.  Yes a truck driver, that started off with a small truck and he ended up driving a tank truck hauling chlorine!  A dangerous cargo and he was bathed in it twice.  I'm surprised he has his vision.

I downloaded this one into my Kobo.  I must admit I had a slow start to this book.  Like two years ago, then I hit that spot in the book and I couldn't put it down.  Jack and Laura, Sara, and Jack, Sara and Luke, Laura and Oliver.  The twists, the turns of a chance sighting from a bus window that leads you through the next few years of all of their lives.

It is hopelessly romantic and heartbreaking but at the end. all works out.  I know you are saying, of course it does, but it doesn't always.

I wish I had known Sara.  I would have given her advise.  If in your gut you know it's the one, run in that direction and don't accept anything less.  It worked for us.  First date in December, engaged in February, married in September and 57 years later we are still together.  Tough times, hard times, good times, perfect times.  We've had it all, we've battled it all.  We have the most fabulous memories of Christmas, Easter, holidays to Denmark and Denmark coming to us, the east coast, the west coast and all points in between.  We have been very fortunate.

Life isn't easy.  It isn't meant to be.  It's meant to give you hard times so you appreciate the good times.  We now have days of no memory of conversations from an hour before, but you move on.  It doesn't last, so you have to learn to accept it and yes it is ruddy hard, but you get up the next day to glorious sunshine and you know it will be a better day.

Recommendation for the book..............*****........5 stars and it is available at Indigo online and you can wander your local Indigo/Chapters store and look in General Fiction.  Josie Silver wrote the book so now you have the author's name.

Enjoy
