On April 15, 2013

 the Boston Marathon was taking place through the streets of this fabulous city.  The home of my Red Sox, the home of the Bruins, the home of the Boston Common --yes there is a quilt pattern named after this.

Her Long Walk Home is a book about the end of the marathon.  When terrorists thought for some unknown reason that placing bombs at the end of the race and having it go off would benefit their ideology.  The story is here should you care to relive that horrible day.

This book is about a young lady who lost her leg from the bombing.  Her mindset, her recovery, her therapy and then finding friends that accepted her for who she was.  

The book is about Becca and Adam and Sara and the folks that live in a beautiful seaside town - Pilgrim Cove - in Massachusetts.

It was one of those books, I read during the day, while Karl napped in the afternoon, before I fell asleep.  I thoroughly enjoyed it.  I will give it 5 out of 5 which I seem to be doing a lot of lately, except for the two books on my shelf I just can't get into.  Maybe this summer.
