I'm donating to two churches this year. Holy Rosary and St. Luke's. One Catholic, one Anglican. I'm sure not too many will donate these, so pocket pillows it is along with some knitting.
I ordered the fabric to make ONE rocket pillow and then remembered I had left-overs from a previous one, so instead of one pillow I'll get two.
I thought of these the other day and it doesn't have to be a story book. You could pop into your local dollar store and buy colouring books. You can run pages off and insert them into a duo-tang. Stretch your imagination. While I worked on this one,
my mind wandered. I thought of Chris Hadfield and Roberta Bondar. Chris Hadfield's book is still available and Roberta Bondar has this book for children, although you may have to scour around for it.
This book put out by the National Geographic is available at Chapters/Indigo.
I had this fabric in the box, so may as well use it up!! Winter is the theme of this one and they are a lot of books about winter............hockey, snowmen, even one about The Snow Bear. AND it's Canadian.

How things change! I've added two churches to the pillow parade. Knox Presbyterian Church in Oakville and West Plains United Church here in Aldershot. West Plains was broken into and some jerk brain, stole $5,000 worth of electronics!! He wandered the church for over an hour one night. The congregation -- which is older -- were told by the minister on a Sunday morning during service. There sure are some low-life in this world.
In closing today, I give you Tommy. The cat who loves all birds but Blue Jays. One swooped down onto the deck one day, grabbed a peanut and took off. Tommy got a bit shaken up by that so now he hides behind the curtain when the Blue Jays come calling. He likes Cardinals and woodpeckers and loves squirrels though!!
"I have felt cats rubbing their faces against mine and touching my cheek with claws carefully sheathed. These things, to me, are expressions of love"
