but they had given us lots of warning.  The occasional blast of wind made it worse.

I was just about finished my cowl and decided that the night before this was it.  I would knit until it was done.
For this cowl I used this size needle
and this yarn
because I wanted it to match my

This yarn is beautiful to knit up.  It is soft and moves beautifully on the needles and just feels so good in your fingers while you work with it.

The pattern is simple.  Cast on 26 stitches.  That's all!  Then for every row Knit 2, Purl 2 and on each row end up with Knit 2 for 45-46".  It has to be long because you will be wrapping it around your neck twice.  You want this to keep you warm!  You don't want the wind howling down your neck.
How to make that twist???  Check out this link.

and it's done!!  Ready for the winter cold -- if I go out the door.
If you don't live locally, The Knitters Boutique in downtown Burlington, Ontario does ship.  The yarn comes in a variety of colours but I chose this because it will go with all my winter coats.......all???.....I own two.
