The weather

has not been lovely.  We've had rain and cloudy days.  Perfect weather for reading and sewing.  I just finished a book by Danielle Steel that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Nurses based in Britain during World War 2.  I smiled, I cried and I gave it 10 out of 10 when I was finished.  This is a hardcover book because I am a snob when it comes to books.  There is nothing in the world like a hardcover book in your hands on a dull, dreary day.

Of course, I'm always sewing or designing or crafting.  Right now I'm having problems with my left thumb so most knitting and cross stitch has been set aside.  The sewing however......nothing will stop me from that.

I spent a few hours cutting all the fabric for these pillowcases, so it was just a matter of pinning and sewing them together.

These are for the families we give to at Christmas.  Family one is a Mom and her son.

These are for a Mom and her two daughters.
The children's cases are different and the girls can decide which one they want.

The two pillowcases on the left side are for another Mom and her daughter.  All of the fabrics came from The Quilting B and More in Charlottetown

I used to shop there when we spent our annual vacation on the Island and after the hurricane went through, I started shopping online to help them out.   They have excellent service and darn prompt delivery!

I still use the same instructions for the pillowcases I've used for many years.  It is from All People Quilt and they are fast and easy to make.  The only thing I can warn you against is directional fabric.  You have to be careful of how you lay the cuff on.  I highly recommend an all-over print.  It's just easier.

More to come next week............I have some housework to do and some running to do and some rain to watch.  Well, at least I don't have to shovel the rain!!
