Book Review

I buy a lot of children's books.  Not because I have little ones and won't be having little ones but it's mainly about the topic or the art work or the lessons we can learn from the writings.

Scotiabank commissioned this book.  All proceeds are going to Hockey 4 Youth, Indigo will be donating 1% of the proceeds to their love of reading programme.  What a win-win situation this is.

The book is amazing.  I loaned it out over the week-end to a teacher and she loves it.  It belongs everywhere.

It's about our second national sport in Canada.  Hockey!!  Nope, lacrosse is our national sport.  Yup you can check that out.  It's about GIRLS playing hockey.  It's about diversity in the sport.  Girls from all backgrounds that want to tie up a pair of skates, put on the pads and jersey and hit the ice.  Girls that want to play a sport like Hayley Wickenheiser, Cassie Campbell, Marie-Philip Poulin and Sarah Nurse.

Two photos for you.  I can't publish anything else because it's copyright and I don't have permission.  Final words?  I cannot give this book enough praise.  If you don't want it, buy it, donate it to a school library, give it to your grandchildren.  We live in a diverse country, always have, always will.
