What do you do....April 1

It's our son-in-law's birthday today.

Nope, not giving away his age, but in 10 years he is retiring!!

when you are working with a fabric that just doesn't cut it for you?  Do you keep plodding along, toss it or try something else.

This is the quilt (partial) of the one in question.  I would wander down to the sewing room occasionally and work on one block and then come back upstairs.  I don't like the turquoise.  It's --- I really don't know.  Not my taste?  Not my style?  Too loud?

I bought a solid fabric to insert between the blocks and that didn't work either.  No I don't have a photo of that.
I let it sit for a week and then inspiration!!  What if I made quilts for the animal shelter here in the City.  Good grief they didn't want them!!  So I phoned our vet's office.  Yes, yes, yes.  They would love them.  So I ended up with two quilt tops from this and then I found some dog fabric left over and I have another one.  Three is a good start!

For my little friends of the feline variety, I just opted to sew squares together for their cages.  I do have plans for these, so come back next week and see the pantographs I used and I'll let you know why I chose them.
