I may as well begin with the book I returned. About 35 pages of reading and I was done. I haven't read that many "F" words in a long time. It was called "Just Last Night". There was a chance it got better, but I kind of had my doubts. When I returned the book, the chap at the cash register said "that word is so outdated". I told them they had a poor command of the English language.
Now for the book I read, and I loved. A story of 3 sisters that for various reasons get reacquainted. Sisters that had problems while growing up together. That's all I'm saying except it was very good. I don't often read authors back to back, but the one book I wanted isn't available yet, so I went with Susan Mallery again. I wasn't disappointed as I wasn't with the first book I read by her.
The next books are for a little boy who is soon to celebrate his first birthday. He had a bit of a tough start in life but he is growing like a bad weed now.
This book was written by an Inuit-Canadian, Celina Kalluk
It is a beautiful book with Artic animals featured.
Yes this is the only one I'm showing you.I wanted a Canadian book and one written by an Indigenous author. I love books with animals for children and this one and the next book fit the bill.
This book was recommended to me by another customer. I'll pass on the recommendation to you
At Chapters it is in the 0-2 age bracket.
Book three
It's a rhyming book. All children love rhyming books.
The cover sold me and I glanced at the drawings inside.
There are animals from around the world, not just North America
It is a lovely book, with lovely art work.
Of course, I chose the cats, but there are so many more to love.
Children will love this book.
Another book in the 0-2 section of Chapters.
Chapters is my favourite bookstore.
I am looking forward to spending an hour in the store and hopefully
that will be sometime this month.
