Karl and I decided...

that the quilts we give this year will be donated to those that are deserving.  People that have been discriminated against, people that have been abused in another way, front line workers, those that are facing challenges.  This baby quilt does fall into one of those categories.

One of the nurses at our doctor's office, who worked 4 days a week, either in the office or in the clinic was expecting her first child.  She left work ahead of schedule due to high blood pressure and I just learned the baby was born prematurely, weighing the grand total of about 3 lbs.  You couldn't find Mommy's face at work.  It was hidden behind a mask, which was behind a shield and then there were the gowns they wore.

We decided that a baby quilt would be the way to go, so I dug out one of my favourite panels and put it through the long arm along with one of the best backing fabrics I've chosen.  It works so well with the colours of some of the animals.  The heart fell right on the back of the Momma fox.

I bought the last of the co-ordinating fabric from Lindley to make the bag.  Fortunately, it's blue!!
