I decided one Wednesday to go down and look at the kits I had made up before Christmas. I honestly did not like two of them, so some fabric was tossed and the other load will be donated. It's already in the bag for them.
I did find one I really liked, probably because I love the designer. Wrendale Designs. I know she is on Instagram, not sure about Facebook, but you could "search" for her.
This was the fabric I had cut and the design I had drawn up. I know the animal print and the brown were backings for panels. The cream was from my stash and boy does it fray!!
A few minutes at the machine
and voila
the rows were all put together
A bit more pressing and pinning and the top was done.A backing had to be made as I needed to keep some fabric aside for the binding. I had to figure out what I could spare from another kit I had. Anything, so I can rid myself of fabric and not spend money.
I'm being frugal for a bit.
I found a lovely green fabric, so I cut 10" of it and sewed it to the rest of the animal print. Then I thought, I still won't have enough binding, so I'll bind with the green.
And one afternoon and one evening and this is what I have.
My January quilt is done. The pantograph is Ginger Hearts and the thread is a solid OMNI, colour number 3009. This thread is the best I have ever purchased and it came via a recommendation from Anne the Quilter. It can be used on so many projects and it just picks up the colour of whatever fabrics are in the quilt. It is also fabulous for piecing. I just can't recommend this thread enough.
