Quilt of the week

I slow down a lot over the summer months.  I sometimes get a quilt made in a week, and sometimes I don't.  It all depends on the weather.
After getting all the kits made it should be a bit quicker.  This is one I really wanted to get going at.  It's based on a baby blanket I'm knitting that will take me forever.  I'm calling it "love to you, little one".  I had a few names but this one just kind of makes it for me.
I had a lot of the greys cut but not enough.  I found some blues so I added them because it just worked.
Before I started to sew the rows together I made the backing, making sure I had enough to bind with.  Not one fabric was purchased in the making of this quilt!  That's my goal this summer..........use up the stash!!
I cut up, cut off and re-configured a pantograph.  I wanted hearts but not the one I had in my collection.  I wanted different.
I posted it on Instagram and asked for help naming it.
Two friends gave me two different names so I combined them.  Thank you Alicia, thank you Perminder

I'll see you all in July.  Our son is flying home tonight after working in Alberta for the last 2 1/2 weeks.  We plan on celebrating their anniversary and Father's Day now that he is back in Ontario.
Quilting will not be a priority for the next few days.
The next quilt will be slightly larger just because I want to see how it looks when it's done.
Enjoy Canada Day.
It won't quite be the same but hey we still live in one of the best countries in the world!
That's reason enough to celebrate in our own way.
