If all goes well

there is a new baby coming.  Heather's niece is expecting.
I dug out some flannelette that was destined for charity and tried to make a fancy-schmancy receiving blanket which is beyond my non-mathematical brain.  So I opted to do my own thing.
These two fabrics were remnants from another project.
I simply laid the right sides together, marked the corners so they were rounded and sewed them together.  I reversed them and then looked at my fancy stitches on my machine and then sewed around the edge closing up the opening.
When I was all finished, one little receiving blanket and one burp cloth -- which is my regular gift to new moms.
The free pattern for the burp cloth and tutorial are here:
Thanks to Jennifer and Shabby Fabrics.
Check out her website.  She has so many wonderful tutorials.
Why not make another?  The first one went so well.
Of course, a burp cloth to match.
and then I had this idea.  A baby bandanna.  I made them years ago and donated them.  I use my walking foot when sewing my layers of flannelette
