She bought two panels, one of which was trim up and put on the long arm. (Coming on the 17th) This one took a bit of work. It had 8 rectangles which is an odd number and hard to work with. They measured out to 9 x 11 when trimmed, which is different.
I designed it and then went down to the Village Square Quilt shop for co-ordinates.
I am going to make this short and simple. It could be a long post if I kept talking. I wanted a story out of these blocks but there were two, too many.
I cut it up and set aside 6 of the blocks and made a table runner out of the other two. The two you can see with the co-ordinates. I had this cute little fabric I used for the side borders and I paper pieced trees to go in between. I will not go into the "brain dead" activity that went into this runner. Thank goodness it turned out as well as it did.
I used Twinkling Holly by Urban Elementz for the pantograph on both of these
Once this was finished I moved onto the quilt. I put flannel on the back so it could be laid on the back of the sofa and used for afternoon naps. Our family is famous for them over the holiday season.
Ah, it's Buddy approved!!
Twinkling Holly was chosen for the two different fabrics that had holly on it. The Holly really wrapped itself around the holly in this block.
