Holy hannah!

As I was digging through my stash to cut up squares for a few quilts, I came across the bottom fabric.  I think it was purchased for my grandson for something he wanted, but I'm not really sure.  I always have a lot of orange fabrics and I had the black for some odd reason.
I went on the Lindley General Store website and looked for more that would go with it.  I found all of these
so I set to designing a quilt.  It looked so easy on paper.  I did the cutting according to the directions which were right on.  Then I put it on the wall.  I did one direction and then my brain just wouldn't work.  I could not for the life of me figure this design out.

I took time off and went upstairs and decided to give my head a rest.  The next day I went back down and took it one step at a time.  One row at a time.  I started from the top corner and worked halfway, then I started from the bottom corner and worked upwards.  It took a couple of days but I got it!!
I knew I only had two rows of sashing to finish up so I went downstairs.  Then my #1 wouldn't stitch properly.  I took out the bobbin, put it back in, rewound it, put it back in and the same thing kept happening.  It had to be the bobbin, right?  I decided to use the Mega Quilter and get it finished.
I asked Karl to come down to take a look at my machine and when I rethreaded it, the darn thing sewed like a dream.  Why didn't I think of that first.  Lesson learned.
I guess we better finish this tomorrow.
Pumpkins, pumpkins, pumpkins.  Take a look at this!  I need some fall flannel and some felt!
