I will put together a collage of photos and post once a week. Sometimes our garden, sometimes quilts.
I sat on the deck over two days this past weekend and sewed away in the beautiful weather. I made two quilt tops even if the one required a lot of running up and down the stairs to measure and to the ironing board.
Quilt number one.
The top two fabrics were ordered from Lindley General Store and as luck would have it, the green from the Marsh Store and the Hive Collection quilt all worked well together.
I used a pattern from the Fabric Cafe's Easy Peasy 3 Yard quilt pattern book, but altered it so the blocks were 13" x 13" finished. I know an odd size but it made the width perfect for the project.
Now before you get all excited and think WOW, she really moved on this quilt, the cutting was done ahead of time. ALL of it and I just had to pin and sew.
The backing is in my stock and I'm doing Butterfly House pantograph on it in a soft yellow King Tut thread.
Quilt number two was started and finished on the Sunday. It was a darn easy quilt to do because I used a panel
It is called High Ridge from Northcott and I bought it from the Lindley General Store (link at the bottom of the page)
I added borders to get the width and length......39 x 63
and even with a lot of running downstairs to use the space for measuring and the big ironing board I had this done by about 1:00 so I could just sit and enjoy the weather.
This quilt was causing problems I have spent hours on the computer looking for just the right pantograph.
Well, lookie, lookie. I went to one of Robin's (Pettyquilt Junction) favourite sites and found a pantograph. Sometimes your luck does run with you.
I found Mountain High. Mountain High......High Ridge. Same darn thing in my book.
Have a great summer. The weather has turned and summer days are ahead.
See you when I see you. I'm not sticking to a time frame like I do the other ten months of the year. It may just be photos, it may be a column, but this summer is going to be mine. I'm even going to do a bit of travelling. I know, me!!
