Well another plan shot down!

I really was going to make this quilt

I even ran off all the letters for it and had the little bird chosen and then I had a thought.  What if I didn't stitch the letters down well enough and all the washing of a baby quilt would be enough for them to fall off.

Soooo, I redesigned.  I still used the fabrics I had chosen but 

 So I played a bit and did a quilt similar to Trip Around the World.  Then I had to decide which colour would be best for the big ??? in the middle.

and I think you've seen this thread before too.

and the colour that won was.  It didn't dominate, it just works.  And he is looking at all the butterflies around him

The backing was made before the top was done from the stash.  It was a little large

I did have to buy some binding.  I bought .35m and I have two strips left-over that went in the binding box.  Or maybe a jelly roll quilt one day.
