Well
what she planned she didn't do. Here you go. This was the original panel.
and this is what I did with it.
The red truck up in the corner turned into a pillow for our son. His first pickup was a red Dodge Ram, so there are a few memories in this gift. I didn't plan it, I just designed as I went along.
I stitched the front and then loaded the back and used a simple meandering pantograph. It is supposed to be stippling but I widened and lengthened it and voila!!I used King Tut Vanilla on all three of the pieces I made. It doesn't shout at you, it does blend, but it does show. It was the perfect choice.
We are having new furniture delivered someday!! It was supposed to be here, but apparently there is a transportation problem. Yeah, okay and there was a raging snowstorm too between here and Wisconsin!! I'm not that dumb.
This runner will be for the ottoman which is going to sit in front of the fireplace. I know two boys who will take this over!!
I love barns. Any kind of barn, but I am partial to red ones. Karl and I both planned the placement of the blocks. Yup, I do take his advise -- sometimes. This time he was right on.
Same thread, different pantograph. This is called Snowdrift (altered). Anne changed the snowflake from a really fancy one to a not so fancy one. This runner didn't say "fancy-fancy". It said 'give me charming' so I did.
The snowflake is big. Like those soft fluffy ones that fall from the sky when we get that perfect snowfall.
and the last one. This is for the back of the chair. You will be able to see it when you walk in the front door. Another pantograph for this one,
which I stitched out lengthwise
Spirals from Urban Elementz.....
With the exception of two quilts to be long armed, I am ready. I will be doing the rest of my quilting as time permits. If it gets done, it gets done, if it doesn't I have things to do to keep me busy when the holiday bustle is over.
Happy, happy birthday to our son Peter today.
He's an old man now. He's over 50! Where the heck did all those years go.
Love him to the moon and back. He is the best son a Mom could ever ask for.
one of the many boys that reside in the house.
Our daughter-in-law is very outnumbered!!
