I ordered yarn because I had a plan. I didn't know the plan needed so little yarn!! That's another story.
I made some cozy slippers. My old ones have a hole in the sole and I thought these with the cuffs would be cozy while sitting around in the evenings watching movies.
I bought Wool-Ease and used two strands of yarn. One navy, one white. Two slippers and yarn left-over. Onto another project.I bought the pattern from Mary Maxim but as I didn't read the instructions, mine look different. Makes it more personal, don't ya think?? If you want the pattern look for Knit Tweed Slippers, #99494N
Seeing as there was white yarn left over, let's make something new, something I've never made before..........hand warmers.
I made the first one and it took one evening from start to finish. I call it mindless knitting. Simple easy stitches although the pattern called for a design. I found it on Ravelry and it was a free download.
The link is at the bottom of the page.
There was a lot of blue left over so I made up two pairs of baby mittens that are being given to two little people for Christmas along with a book. The pattern for these is in a book as old as my grandchildren. I part with nothing.
The story book is called the "Dashing Through the Snow". It is promoted as a Canadian Jingle Bells. I've ordered it, it's on it's way. I'll let you know "yea" or "nay". Then and again all books are a "yea" to me.

Not sure if this will work because you need to have a membership. Otherwise Google Winter Wonderland by Kristin Hansen. Watch what you type because there is a lot of 'winter wonderland' out there.
