cause it's just time!
Some flannels have been here for awhile, some are fairly new but it's time for them to go along with the cottons. It's time for new.
I made up the pattern in my mind and then went for it. A simple four-patch and then a block. Alternate a few fabrics and you are good to go.
Sometimes the best thing about a piece of fabric is the selvedge. I bought some Woolies flannel from the Hobby Horse and this delightful little piece
one afternoon sewing the blocks together
and another
afternoon sewing the rows together.
Simple easy sewing.
then make a backing
and then the quilting
always someone supervising
two nights of hand stitching for the binding
and done
Cakewalk is the pantograph, Navy Blue OMNI thread, Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 batting.
I have border fabric left over so I'm planning on a pillow for us!!
It only takes an afternoon and then I'll pop it in a bag
for next fall and winter.
