I think this was the quickest little ornament I've made. I only made three, two for Edmonton and one as a keeper for us.
I made it up and just before packing it up to ship I added a "fork pompom". Simple and easy to make but I didn't wind the yarn as much as the directions. The link is here and it's a good one. Fork Pompom

The original directions which I could never find again, called for felt. I didn't have any, I never have any. I also didn't have any wool fabric, so I pulled my flannel out and it worked. I did overcast the edge of the hat and I did use fusible fleece to "stuff" the hat. They suggested stuffing, but I didn't want it puffy. I know I'm fussy, but some people are like that and I'm one of them.
