For our daughter I opted

to make this!  I wanted something different for  her gift than the men were getting.  She can use these in her sewing room or her bedroom or wherever her little heart desires.

Here's the pattern.

and it's a free download.  You know how I love free.

I asked what her favourite colour was.  She said red, so when I went searching I found this.  How lucky was I?

I kept digging and found two co-ordinates
In a lot less than 2 hours, I had pressed the fabric, cut the fabric and the batting, did strip piecing, pressed again and had them made into pods.
The instructions are fabulous.  Follow each step as you go and you won't have any problems at all.  A beginner could make these.
I took my scissors down from my scissor holder and hung them up to photograph them
The little holder was purchased in St. John's, NL with no idea what I would use it for. Then the light bulb went off. I get to look at it often! It brings back great memories of a fabulous holiday with friends, and one of the restaurants on it was where we had lunch after a morning of shopping.  Fish and chips of course.  In case you are ever lucky enough to travel to "the rock", I highly recommend Bridie Malloy's on George Street in downtown St. John's.
Honestly, I just highly recommend a trip to Newfoundland.  Everything about it is wonderful.
These pods stand nicely on their own too.  I used a fusible fleece for the batting instead of the regular 80/20.  The envelope has a pattern for an easy peasy quilt from All People Quilt.
