I have saved binding strips for a long time thinking one day I would make a jelly roll quilt. It has never happened. It never will. Soooo
I designed a quilt on EQ that will use up the ones I like. If it wasn't a strip I made it one to fill in the places I didn't have fabric for.
Here is the block with the cutting. As my strips were already cut 2 1/2" I just had to do the subcutting.
I made the same mistake sewing these together twice. I finally got my brain in gear so the pictures are right. Sew your first 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" squares together. As I wanted the white fabric on the outside edge (it's all up to you what you do), I placed the 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" piece across the top of the first section. Then I started number 3 colour. I had to swing this around, so I kept going in the right direction. For me it was the top and then the right side.
and finally they were all done. I had pre-cut so the sewing went quickly and I pressed each seam after I had sewn it down. The block is
12 1/2" x 12 1/2" unfinished.
