Willie Nelson recorded

a song many years ago that became our theme song as we travelled from place to place.  "On the Road Again" every morning when we moved along to our next destination, which could change if something interesting came along.  We had a lot of mornings of singing that song.
This new quilt is called On The Road.  It is the fastest quilt I've ever done.  Two fabrics, black and a very light grey.  Honestly less than an afternoon to cut and sew it together to this stage.
I found fabric in my stash that added some fun to this quilt.  I want little cars like Hot Wheels but I didn't want a huge variety.  As you know, I love fast and quick.  I Goggled clip art cars and came up with one that fit the bill.  Then I made it the size I wanted.
There was nothing on tv so I sat in the den and traced the cars onto fusible and then pressed them to the fabrics I found in my stash.
A day of sewing -- well almost -- I baked a load of cookies that were very good by the way -- and I finished this up after supper.  I wanted to play on my long arm programme during the evening.
My favourite car..............this one.............cut from a piece of binding I found in a box.
and then it was done.
It was put on the back burner for a week, because I had to get customer quilts finished for them.
I used Hot Wheels pantograph by Dave Hudson
and the wrong variegated OMNI-V thread, but hey it's done and I'm not changing it
I used a lime green thread to stitch all the cars down with.  I've been told it's a neutral and it really is
The back worked out perfectly.  I'm really happy with the road way
and the label.  Once again tucked into a corner, just the way I like it.
