I did some digging

and when I looked I found a bunch of hexies put together.  It wasn't quite this big
so I sat every night and added a bit more
 and then a bit more
and then it was time to pull the papers out
find a piece of fabric so I could get it quilted
then I sandwiched it after I gave it a really, really good pressing.  Then the fun began.  I love this quilting.  I've done it before and it just works so well on a home sewing machine.  Draw the start of a small circle in the centre and start stitching at that point.  Move your needle as far to the left as you can and use the outside edge of your walking foot as your guide as you make your circles
around and around, right out to the edge.  It gets a lot easier the wider you go.  It doesn't take long to do.
Now I did muck this up.  The "circle" I cut wasn't actually a circle.  It was off on one side.  Maybe that lid had fallen one time and been bent, I don't know, but anyway, that part was just cut off so I could salvage something.
You need a bias binding and this little one didn't need much.
My new candle mat.  I just need a new candle.  Maybe a coral one, or yellow or even blue.
After the pandemic is all over I'll run out and get one.

One more tomorrow and then a week's break.
I'll see what mischief I can get into, in the meantime
