A friend is going to welcome a

great nephew into the family this spring.  She asked if I could make up Construction Zone from Northcott for her.  A great panel for boys -- or if you had a daughter like we did -- for girls.
I spent an evening looking for a really good panto that wouldn't over power the trucks and diggers.  I found it in my book.  It is called Built Tough, it's from Urban Elementz and designed by Patricia Ritter.  Now if you go looking for this be warned.  Mine was reversed before I started to stitch it out so it looks like this now.
I auditioned two threads and OMNI-V 9036 was perfect.  When I audition a thread I place the panel on my ironing board or the table of my long arm and use my OTT light to make sure.
The lighting in the area where my machine is, is not the greatest for seeing colours properly.  It also had to be moved a little while back, because we had plumbing issues in the room.  I do not need water dripping from a pipe on the longarm.
It doesn't over power, but blends in.  Those construction vehicles are what I wanted to be seen.
I laid it over the long arm while I went up and rested my aching knees.  They have been really bad lately.  I'm hoping there is something other than surgery that can be done.
All finished.  The sun was shining, the sky was blue and the wind was just a breeze the day I went outside to snap the photos.  A perfect March day.
Sometimes you just find the perfect little piece of fabric to sew the label to.
