The Avalon Peninsula in Newfoundland was hammered with a snowstorm, the likes of which have never been seen before.
The goodness and kindness of the Newfoundland people came through as always. They are born with kindness, they are born with goodness and when times get tough they bind together like none other.
During the fourth day of a state of emergency I posted this on Instagram. The peoples of the world could take a passage from the book these people were raised with.
I printed this off as my daily reminder.
These are but a few of the many stories that have come to light during the clean up. My Armed Forces are the best, the very, very best in the world. These men and women have hearts of gold and work for our nation when some wouldn't. I thank them all from the bottom of my heart.
If you ever see a man or woman in uniform, buy them a cup of coffee. Thank them for serving our great country. They deserve it. If you ever go to Newfoundland, enjoy. It's a trip you will never regret. We certainly didn't.
