Throwback Thursday

Wow, it sure doesn't seem to take long for a week to go by.  This week for two people in our family is very special.  They are in Denmark!  Not quite where my husband was born, but in Copenhagen (København), touring, taking in the sites, the sounds and of that very yummy food.
They happened upon this statue........the world famous story teller Hans Christian Andersen

We own a very old book by HC Andersen.

It was given to my mother for perfect attendance in Sunday School.  They corrected the name because they originally were giving it to her sister Jean who according to stories handed down was not the best at going to Sunday School......or shall we say she went to the church, she just didn't go inside!  Look at the year..........

The book does not have all HC's stories, only 5 of them

and there were a few illustrations

I have no idea when the book was published but obviously it was before 1926.

It is a small treasure for our family and who knew when it was given to me, that I would marry a great Dane by the last name of
