January challenge!

Before we begin......this page is print friendly.  Scroll to the bottom if you would like to print it off.
Okay, I know we just had Christmas, but we all know how fast it creeps up on us.  I love starting in January and working a little bit each month.  I have a huge box I throw things in as I complete them, so I can find it all at the end of the year.
I have already decided my theme for next Christmas................
are ya ready?
You know Dasher, Dancer, Prancer and that little female deer Vixen!!!
You don't get to see many 'deer, lots of snowmen though, so I'm finding as many ways as possible to make things representing that wonderful sleigh puller!  They deserve to be recognized.
I spent days searching the internet for a pattern.  I could have drawn one, but why when someone else can do the work for you.  Just before New Year's I sat at the computer with a mission and it was completed.  I found a pattern.
I wanted cute as this particular pillow is going to Julia.  Before Christmas ~~ as she gets a lot of gifts under the tree.....she has so many aunts and uncles and of course, her Grandma and Grandpa.

You can find the pattern here

I have made you pattern sheets.....only 2.....

You can use the original pattern for placement.
I did not trace the ornament for you.
I ran the pattern sheets off on card stock and sat and cut them all out one evening.....New Year's Eve to be specific!!  Yeah, lots of excitement at our house that night!
The next day I auditioned the fabric.  I wasn't sure about the antlers
As you can see from the photos the antler selection in this photo really takes over the reindeer.
The second photo with the other choice is much better ~~ in my humble opinion ~~ so that is the one I chose to use.
I fused my fusible web to the back of the fabrics and then sat and cut all the pieces out in the warmth and comfort of the living-room.  My basement is freezing at the moment!!

Remember all pieces except for two! must be reversed.  Once traced you can mark the eyebrows and mouth onto the face.
The two pieces that are reversed are the one ear and the inner ear.
I set my iron up in the kitchen and fused sections together.  The ears, eyes and "nose".
Once they were fused I followed the placement guide and fused the entire piece together and then fused it to the background.
The "saga" of the pillow continues next Tuesday, the 20th

Congratulations to my good friend
on the birth of her beautiful new grandson.
The lucky lady is travelling this week-end to visit with the new little lad and his siblings.
