on September 23, our first grandson was born.  It doesn't seem possible that all those years have passed by.

When Brandon Lars was going into kindergarten I suggested to Karl we take him camping.  He was turning 5 and off we went on a journey to Georgian Bay.  Not too far from home in case he got home sick!  Never happened.

A few years later we thought let's take him again.  (Each of our grands has had a holiday with us.....a couple of them more have had a few!!!)  We headed up to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario located on the shores of Lake Superior.  For Brandon a long way from home............for us many, many great memories.

We were taking a boat ride through the "Soo" locks, something none of us had done before.  We all thoroughly enjoyed it.

We spent the day in the Soo walking around Roberta Bondar park.........Canada's first female astronaut.....born in Sault Ste. Marie just a few years ago.  LOL

This year Brandon and 3 of his buddies went for a drive.  Their destination........Winnipeg, Manitoba.  Why?  Because they had never been there.

Unfortunately they never made it.  Their car broke down and they had to settle for Thunder Bay.

Brandon sent us some photos of his trip.  He remembered the whole thing.  This is where they stayed one night and this is where we stayed too.

Then

and now........

His buddies and himself also went into the "Soo" and saw the same things we did.  These are the fishing bears......lovely big fish they managed to snag.  Wonder if it was catch and release?

When he sent the photos he asked if I remembered?  Could we forget?

This is Grandpa and Brandon on the shores of Lake Superior.  Our best friends who live in Newfoundland now will remember this park too.  We spent some "overnighters" there on our way to Saskatchewan and beyond.

So glad we were able to take our grands on holidays.  What memories we have.

Happy 21st Birthday Brandon Lars Vad Andersen.

We are mighty proud of you young man.

Sometimes a small thing you do can mean everything in another person's life
